Juniors: Web (out of) site

One in ten FTSE Aim 100 companies are still failing to meet new website disclosure rules, according to a new study from Investis.

All Aim companies had to have a website with key financial information on it by last Monday (20 August). On the actual deadline day, the LSE announced that 1,654 out of the 1,688 Aim companies, or 98%, had complied with the new rules, yet internet consultant Investis, having undertaken its own study, found that ten FTSE Aim 100 companies met less than half of requirements.

Investis spokesman Charles Hamlyn, says: ‘The LSE figures do not reconcile with the admittedly small sample we have audited.’ But the LSE stands by its statistics, saying it carried out an in-depth analysis of all 1,700 sites: ‘Companies’ websites have been assessed on an individual basis, and we have found that only 2% have failed to comply with the new rules in a material way.’
