Barclays Stockbrokers has launched a new trading platform from which you can trade both equities and derivatives. As well as executing conventional share trades, BARX will allow you to deal in CFDs and covered warrants so you can go long or short at will. Investors can either take the platform with Level 2 data or without.
Charges start at £29 a month for the standard package and £45 with Level 2. If you trade more than 30 times a month the standard package is free but you still have to pay £16 a month to add Level 2. Access to Level 2 becomes free for those trading more than 75 times a month, making this a platform aimed at the active private investor.
Thomas Ryan, director at Barclays Wealth, says there’s an emphasis on usability with a function allowing you to double click on graphs to take you to the trade execution page. There are feeds from business wires including Dow Jones Newswire and Primary Information Providers like the London Stock Exchange’s Regulatory News Service (RNS).
