US oil explorer Meridian Petroleum (MRP:AIM) is seeking to dissolve its partnership with EnSight on the Calvin field in Louisiana.

The next stage of the joint venture had been a planned re-entry on the 5-9 well to gauge the potential of the Terryville A and B sands, EnSight has been asked to re-assign its 35% working interest to Meridian. The latter says that, once the confirmation of full ownership of 70% net working interest in the project is reverted to the company, EnSight will no longer hold any interest in the Calvin field project. It is now evaluating its options and says it may take on a new partner.
