JJB due a lift

Retailer JJB Sports (JJB) is believed to be close to selling its 6 Soccer domes. These indoor 5-a-side facilities would fit neatly with either Powerleague (PWR:AIM) or Goals Soccer Centres (GOAL:AIM). This could generate a welcome influx of cash – probably over £20 million – which would be reinvested in its expanding and successful chain of combined health clubs and retail outlets. It would also be a rare bit of good news from JJB which has also made just over £2 million in profits from the sale of its Umbro (UMB) stake to Nike.

Shares says: The proceeds will be small relative to a market cap of £265m but any deal will be well received by the market. JM
