Stagecoach Th. Arts (STA:AIM) – Interims PTP: £0.3m (-£0.1m) Divi: n/a (n/a)

The theatre school company moved into interim profits for the first time since flotation on the back of increased numbers and cost cutting measures. The company holds around 620 schools in the UK but finance director Richard Dawson says that he believes over 1,000 schools would be possible for the company in the future as it looks to expand.

It is also growing a strong presence overseas, recently signing a franchise agreement for a school in Athens, which could provide a stepping stone for more schools in the country. Dawson says that traditionally the second half is stronger for the company and that he expects it to remain profitable for the full year.

Shares says: Solid results which show the company is progressing well.
