Two new deals have been signed through technology group OMG’s (OMG:AIM) 3D mapping division, Yotta, with leading suppliers to the UK Highways Agency.
The first contract has been awarded by the integrated highway services company A-one. Valued at £120,000, the deal involves a 350km network length survey of the Highways Agency Area 14, which covers Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and Durham. The survey will use Yotta’s Nano technology with high-resolution 360-degree photography for precision mapping of the highway inventory in the area, collating details of highways assets such as signs and road markings. This information can then be compared with data held on the Highways Agency’s computer system. Benefits of Yotta’s unique digital asset-collection survey include its speed, safety, low cost and lack of disruption to road users.
In addition, A-one’s sister company, A-one+, has decided to take a further service from Yotta, having previously employed Yotta back in December to supply it with a similar survey of Highways Agency Area 10 in the north west. The new service is worth £170,000 and will see Yotta process the video data captured during the Area 10 survey. The shares rose 4% following the news to 54.5p.
