Recently listed Lifeline Scientific (LSI:AIM) has secured contracts through its organ recovery division for its LifePort Kidney Transporter with two of the world’s largest kidney transplant centres.

The Alabama Organ Center and the University Hospital of Wisconsin have both elected to use LifePort to transport and preserve deceased donor kidneys offered for transplantation in their centres.

These are reported, on average, to number 500 annually. As well as the sale of 14 LifePort Kidney Transporters, the contracts include a significant volume of consumables each year and also cover ongoing warranty and maintenance services.

Chief executive, David Kravitz, describes the deal as a ‘significant accomplishment’. He adds, ‘While January and February trading results have met management expectations, these contracts support our well paced momentum to meet our targets for 2008.’

Lifeline Scientific floated on Aim in January having raised £5.4 million.

Shares says: Early days but taking the right steps.
