Fund Objective

The Fund aims for long term capital growth and will invest in the shares of a broad range of European companies, based on the fund manager's view of their long term return prospects. Fund Managers

Peter Michaelis
Peter has worked in fund management since 2000. Before joining Alliance Trust Investments in August 2012, Peter spent 11 years at Aviva Investors where, most recently, he was Head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment. After completing a PhD in Environmental Economics, Peter started his career working for the Steel Construction Institute as an Environmental Engineer. He then moved to Henderson Global Investors where he worked as an SRI Analyst and Assistant Fund Manager. In 2001 he moved to Aviva Investors, where he was promoted to lead manager on a number of its sustainable investment funds. Peter holds an MA in Physics from Oxford University, an MSc in Energy & Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Environmental Economics. In addition, he holds the CFA Society of the UK Investment Management Certificate.
Neil Brown
Neil is a Fund Manager on the Sustainable Investment Team at Alliance Trust Investments. Before joining Alliance Trust in August 2012 Neil spent four years at Aviva Investors as an SRI Analyst and then Fund Manager. Neil’s investment career started at Pensions & Investments Research Consultants where he was a senior researcher. In 2004, he moved to Threadneedle Asset Management where, as well as having the role of Pan European Equity Analyst, he was also Head of Governance and Responsible Investment. Neil has an MSc in Development Economics from the School of African & Oriental Studies and a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Manchester. He holds the CFA Society of the UK Investment Management Certificate.
