The fund aims to deliver a positive total return (the combination of income and growth of capital) over rolling periods of three to five years, through an investment approach that seeks to manage risk. There is no guarantee that the fund will achieve a positive return over this, or any other, period. The fund has the flexibility to go long or short of any investable asset class globally. Asset exposure is gained through physical holdings and the use of derivatives. The approach combines in-depth research to determine the value of assets over the medium to long term, with analysis of investors’ emotional reaction to events to identify investment opportunities.
