The investment objective of the Fund is to provide income with the prospect of capital growth.
Born in 1964, Richard graduated from Exeter University with a History degree in 1987. He joined Smith New Court in the City of London as a graduate trainee, prior to moving to Hambros Bank, where he was the Investment Strategist, specialising in US equities and global funds. Richard moved down to the West Country to join Exeter Investment Group in 1995, and was in charge of the firm’s conventional investment trust holdings. He was the manager of The New Zealand Investment Trust, and won many awards for his management of two funds, Exeter Pacific Growth and Exeter Global Opportunities. He continued with the firm through a period of major corporate change involving deals with iimia, Miton and Midas, and managed iimia Growth & Income Fund from its launch in January 2005 through to his resignation in June 2008 to take up the position of Chief Investment Officer at Hawksmoor Investment Management. He is an Associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.
Daniel was born in 1973 and began his investment career in 1998 with Abbey Life Investment Services in Bournemouth, where he worked in the fixed interest team as a money market and foreign exchange dealer. This included a stint in London with Hill Samuel Asset Management after the merger of Abbey Life and Hill Samuel. Daniel returned to Bournemouth in 2001 to join Christows Stockbrokers, working with Nick Greenwood on his funds of investment trusts. Following a change in ownership at Christows and the departure of key individuals, Daniel left to be a founding member of iimia in 2002. His role progressed from assistant fund manager of the iimia Accelerated Fund and iimia Investment Trust, to lead manager of the iimia Income Fund and finally Head of Investment Services. Daniel joined Hawksmoor in June 2009 as Fund Manager and remains co-manager of The Vanbrugh Fund and The Distribution Fund as well as the Model Portfolio Service. Daniel is CIO – Fund Management and is a Director of Hawksmoor.
Ben was born in 1979 and graduated in 2002 from Trinity College, Cambridge with a degree in Economics. He joined the graduate program of Deutsche Bank in London and specialised in Japanese equities having spent his gap year teaching English with Project Trust in rural Japan. He moved to Merrill Lynch in 2004, where he became a Director of Japanese Equities. In 2008 Ben left the City and moved to Sydney to help start-up an energy consultancy with two close friends. Having enjoyed Australia’s more laid back lifestyle for 2 years, Ben returned to the UK, relocating to the South West and joining Hawksmoor in July 2010. He has worked on the Fund Management team since 2011 and been a co-manager on both Hawksmoor Funds since January 2014.
