The Fund aims to maximise the return on your investment through a combination of capital growth and income on your investment. The Fund invests primarily in the shares of companies which are domiciled in, or the main business of which is in, Asia excluding Japan. Many of these countries are developing countries. In particular, the Fund will invest in the shares of companies, which, in the Portfolio Manager's opinion, have good growth potential. For example the companies may demonstrate above-average growth rates in earnings or sales and high or improving returns on capital.
Andrew Swan, Managing Director, is the Head of Asian Equities of the Fundamental Equity division at BlackRock. He is responsible for managing several regional equity portfolios, setting regional equity investment strategy and developing BlackRock's Asian investment platform and capabilities. Before joining BlackRock in August 2011, Andrew was with JP Morgan for 17 years. Andrew is backed by a team of research specialists, focused on country-specific markets, with a deep awareness of macro trends. BlackRock believe in having deep local knowledge of the markets we invest in which can be best achieved by having a country research focus.
Emily Dong, Director, is a portfolio manager for the Asian Growth Leader portfolios within the Asian Equities team in the Fundamental Equity division of BlackRock's Active Equity Group. She is responsible for managing regional unconstrained strategies and assists in setting regional equity investment strategy. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2010, Ms Dong worked in China Renaissance Capital Investment and JMB Capital Partners as a senior investment professional. She began her career at China International Capital Corporation (CICC) as an equity analyst. Ms Dong has 12 years of investment experience. Ms Dong graduated from Peking University in China with a degree in International Finance, and received her MBA from the Harvard Business School.
