The Fund aims to achieve a return on your investment, through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund’s assets. This will be effected by gaining exposures to a diverse range of asset classes. The Fund will invest on a global basis in any or all of the following asset classes: shares, fixed income securities, money-market instruments, deposits, cash, and other funds and derivatives (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets). These asset classes and the extent to which the Fund is invested in these may vary without limit depending on market conditions and other factors at the investment manager’s direction. The investment manager may use derivatives to help achieve the Fund’s investment objective. Derivatives may be used to gain indirect exposure to commodities (such as precious metals and agricultural produce) and property.
Shinda Bickham, Director, is a San Francisco-based, senior portfolio manager within the MAS - Factor-Based Strategies Group where he oversees the global implementation function for our factor-based portfolio suite, including Market Advantage and Style Advantage. Mr. Bickham also oversees global implementation for MuSt, and is actively involved in the research of trading and portfolio construction strategies for both teams. Prior to joining MAS, Mr. Bickham was a portfolio manager in the Client Solutions (CS) team within BlackRock Solutions, initially based in London where he worked within the EMEA LDI PM team with oversight responsibilities for the EMEA LDI pooled fund range and, before that, in the Derivatives Solutions Group where he managed a variety of derivatives-based overlays and foreign exchange hedging mandates. Mr. Bickham moved to the New York office in 2013, where he held portfolio management responsibilities within the CS OCIO/Fiduciary business. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2010, Mr. Bickham worked for Russell Investments in a number of capacities, originally as a founding member of their US LDI portfolio management team and, ultimately, as a portfolio manager in their London-based Overlay Services team, where he managed derivatives-based completion funds and focused on further developing their LDI and interest rate swap management infrastructure. Mr. Bickham earned a BA degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998.
