Essentra PLC on Monday said it has appointed Jack Clarke as chief financial officer designate with effect from April 4.

He will be appointed as chief financial officer proper with effect at the annual general meeting on May 19, replacing Lily Liu, who is stepping down from the Milton Keynes, England-based plastics foam products company after four years since 2018.

In November, Essentra announced that Liu would be departing to become chief financial officer at chemicals firm Synthomer PLC. Liu’s remaining time as Essentra is to be spent on the ongoing strategic review of Essentra’s Packaging division and Filters business.

Clarke will be joining from hard landscaping products Marshalls PLC, where he was chief financial officer for seven years from 2014 to 2021.

‘I am pleased that Jack has agreed to join the board as chief financial officer. His established expertise as a CFO will be invaluable to the business in the coming years. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lily again for the role she has played in helping the team deliver on the group’s strategy and growth objectives,’ said Chair Paul Lester.

Shares in Essentra were up 1.3% at 282.50 pence on Monday in London.
