NCC Group PLC on Tuesday announced that the appointment of Mike Maddison as chief executive officer has been brought forward to take effect on July 7, instead of August 1.

Maddison’s appointment to lead the Manchester-based cybersecurity firm was first announced in early May, and he will be joining from accounting firm EY, where he is head of its cyber security, privacy, and trusted technology practice in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region. He has held that role since 2017.

Current Chief Executive Adam Palser will remain in his role until mid-June, after which he will remain to support an orderly handover. In addition, over the interim period, Non-Executive Chair Chris Stone will become executive chair.

Shares in NCC were up 0.1% at 216.72 pence on Tuesday in London.
