Capita PLC on Tuesday said it has secured a three-year extension with NHS England and NHS Improvement to continue its Primary Care Support England contract.

The London-based outsourcing company said the contract is worth £94 million over three years and runs until August 31, 2025.

It will see Capita continue to deliver digital, logistical, and support services to England’s primary care practitioners working in the NHS, the company added.

The extension builds on the existing contract which Capita won in 2015.

Since then, ‘Capita has invested significantly to ensure the delivery of complex digital transformation projects for NHS England and NHS Improvement’, the company said. It cites standardising primary care processes nationally and launching the PCSE online platform as examples of service improvements it has made.

Chief Executive Al Murray said: ‘The extension of our contract with NHS England and NHS Improvement reflects our focus and commitment to continuing to improve and deliver for the organisation, as for all our clients and customers.’

‘This renewal reflects our ability to retain and continue to work with important clients and partners by successfully delivering for them,’ Murray added.

Shares in Capita were down 0.6% to 25.32 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
