SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Argo Blockchain PLC, up 10% at 33.00 pence, 12-month range 28.44p-175.00p. The cryptocurrency miner is tracking the price of bitcoin higher. The world’s oldest cryptocurrency stands at $20,581.20 on Monday morning, up from the $17,599 low touched at the weekend, its lowest level since December 2020.

SThree PLC, up 5.6% at 336.85p, 12-month range 312.50p-610.00p. The recruiter lifts its full-year profit outlook due to an ‘excellent’ performance in its first half that was enabled by growth in its largest markets. In the six months to May 31, net fees increased 25% to £203.1 million from £164.3 million the year before. As a result of its ‘strong performance’ the company expects its full-year pretax profit to be at least 5% ahead of market consensus, for the year ending November 30. In financial 2021, the company generated a pretax profit of £60.2 million. The current management-compiled consensus expects a profit of £66.2 million for financial 2022.

Pharos Energy PLC, down 6.8% at 22.36p, 12-month range 18.58p-32.93p. Shares in Egypt, Vietnam and Israel-focused oil explorer are tracking spot oil prices lower. Brent oil is quoted at $112.48 a barrel Monday morning, down from $114.22 late Friday.
