Online grocer Ocado Group PLC on Thursday said it has completed the agreements to extend its partnership with French retailer Groupe Casino, covering the creation of a joint venture and the integration of a marketplace platform.

Ocado and Casino first announced the extension of their partnership in February, which they had first established in 2017.

It initially covered the development of the Ocado Smart platform in France, but has since been extended to cover the creation of a new joint venture to provide logistics services to Ocado Smart Platform-powered customer fulfilment centres in France.

Ocado and Casino also will continue work to integrate Octopia’s marketplace platform into the Ocado Smart Platform, allowing OSP partners to launch marketplace offerings.

Octopia is a subsidiary of French e-commerce site, Cdiscount, which is part of Groupe Casino.

Shares in Ocado were down 3.8% at 770.60 pence on Thursday morning in London.
