Pod Point Group Holdings PLC on Thursday named David Wolffe as its next chief financial officer, ahead of the retirement of incumbent David Surtees in March 2023.

The London-based electric vehicle charging company started trading on London’s Main Market in November last year, at a price of 225.00 pence per share. Shares are currently down roughly a third from the initial public offering price.

The stock was 4.4% lower at 146.33p each in London on Thursday afternoon.

At the time of the company’s IPO, CFO Surtees announced plans to retire at the end of March 2023.

On Thursday, Pod Point said that Wolffe will take up a non-board position as CFO designate on July 25.

Wolffe and Surtees will work alongside one another to enable a smooth transition, before Wolffe takes over as CFO and joins the board in early 2023, it added.

Most recently, Wolffe was CFO of Ted Baker PLC. Prior to that, he was CFO at HMV PLC, as well as a finance director at ITV PLC.

Wolffe stepped down from Ted Baker in March to ‘pursue another opportunity’.

Chair Gareth Davis said: ‘We believe that David will bring valuable experience to the Pod Point board as we build on the foundation set by our IPO in late 2021.’
