Vertu Motors PLC on Friday said it is buying Worcestershire-based e-commerce business Wiper Blades Ltd.

The Gateshead, England-based car dealership expects the £3.5 million acquisition to be profitable in the current financial year that started on September 1, 2021.

‘This acquisition is in line with the stated strategy of the group to develop ancillary businesses to add revenue and profit streams that complement the core business and is further adding digital capabilities and reach,’ Vertu explained. ‘Wiper Blades complements the Powerbulbs.com business the group bought in June 2021,’ it continued.

Vertu Motors shares were up 0.9% at 54.50 pence each in London on Friday morning.
