Panthera Resources PLC on Monday said it has started its induced polarisation survey for the Bido project in Burkina Faso, with the objective of covering accessible higher priority targets.

The Africa and India-focused gold miner has contracted Sagax Afrique SA to conduct the survey over several grids located within the licence area, to find targets accessible before the start of the wet season in the third quarter of 2022.

The work will consist of around 200 kilometres of gradient array over the Beredo and Somika areas with follow-up Pole and Dipole array surveys to define the drill targets.

Panthera expects the survey to be completed in time to commence drilling activity later in the year.

‘The Bido project has existed in the shadow of Labola and Bassala for some time. It is the next step in the company’s value creation chain as we advance our portfolio of opportunities in West Africa. Bido is a large licence with a plethora of mineralised targets that require prioritisation ahead of drilling. The IP programme, which is expected to be completed in coming weeks, is the final step ahead of planned drilling later in 2022,’ said Managing Director Mark Bolton.

Shares in Panthera Resources were untraded at 5.75 pence on Monday.
