Fresnillo PLC - Mexico City-based silver and gold miner - Produces more ore in the second quarter to June 30, citing operational progress. Gold production rises by 6.1% to 158,960 ounces from 149,792 ounces a year ago. Silver production grows 8.1% to 14.4 million ounces from 13.3 million ounces. Lead production surges 19% to 14,535 tonnes from 12,244 tonnes. Zinc production at 26,808 tonnes, up 13% from 23,726.

‘We remain on track to meet our 2022 full year guidance of 50.5 to 56.5 million ounces of attributable silver (including silverstream) and 600,000 to 650,000 thousand ounces of attributable gold production,’ company says. ‘We continue to address the challenges presented by the Mexico labour reform which limits the use of contractors,’ it explains.

Fresnillo will release its half-year results on August 2.
