London stocks open after an overall positive session on Wall St overnight ahead of the much-anticipated US non-farm payrolls data this afternoon, and a mixed turn on Asia this morning.
Investors will also be looking to a raft of other economic data, including UK's construction PMI and euro-zone's PPI. US' trade balance is also due out today.
US & ASIA
On Wall St last night, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 18,419.3, the S&P 500 was flat at 2170.86 and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.27% to 5227.21.
In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 had fallen 0.38% to 16,862.0, while the Hang Seng firmed 0.35% to 23,243.87.
At 5.58am, WTI crude was up 0.58% to $43.41/bbl and Brent was ahead 0.59% to $45.72/bbl. Gold was 0.02% lower at $1316.8.
In a sparse corporate diary today, Fyffes issues its interim results and Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port has its shareholder meeting.
