London equities stocks are will open after gains on Wall St and in Asia overnight, with a string of ex-dividend equities likely to be a factor.
A raft of macro data -- UK mortgage approvals and money supply, plus US gross domestic product and jobless figures -- will draw investor attention.
US & ASIA
On Wall St overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.61% to 18,339.24, the S&P 500 added 0.53% to 2171.37 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.24% to 5318.55.
In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 had risen 1.47% to 16,706.93, while the Hang Seng firmed 0.38% to 23,710.05.
At 6.16am, WTI crude was up 0.06% to $47.08/bbl and Brent was down 0.31% to $48.54. Gold was up 0.36% to $1328.5/oz.
Interim results are due from Air Partner, Harvey Nash and Patagonia Gold. Final results are due from Vernalis.
A trading statement is due from QinetiQ, while shareholder meetings are in the diary for Castleton Technology and Tavistock Investments.
