FTSE to open after falls on Wall St, gains in Asia

London equities will open after a lower turn by Wall St and gains by Asia, with traders once again jittery over Brexit and its implications, with a wary eye on the US elections and the Deutsche Bank saga.

On Wall St last night, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3% to 18,253.85, the S&P 500 shed 0.33% to 2161.2 and the Nasdaq Composite faded 0.21% to 5300.88.
In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 had gained 0.8% to 16,731.43, while the Hang Seng firmed 0.02% to 23,590.0.
At 5.56am, WTI crude was down 0.43% to $48.60/bbl and Brent was down 0.29% to $50.74/bbl. Gold was up 0.02% to $1312.9/oz.
Interim results are due from Quantum Pharma, while final results are expected from CAP-XX and Digital Globe Services. Shareholder meetings are being held by Angle and Ncondezi Energy.
