RedT Energy said its flagship UK 1MWh energy storage project, in partnership with Centrica, is now fully operational and connected to the UK grid.
Located at a farm and holiday retreat in North Cornwall, the machines will be used as a flexible platform to enabling the customer to utilise significantly more of its renewable solar onsite generation, the company said.
RedT said it expected the project and others like it to achieve an internal rate or return percentage in the mid-teens.
"This remains one of the only commercial energy storage projects of its kind in the UK as a fully flexible energy storage platform, demonstrating the company's industry leading position in the sector," chief executive Scott McGregor said.
