ITE Group has appointed Richard Last as non-executive chairman, effective from 12 Feb.
The group said Last had over 30 years of public company board experience, particularly in the technology and communications sectors.
He is currently the chairman of Gamma Communications, a communications group and Tribal Group, a technology group.
Neil England, who has been serving as chairman, will return to his role as a non-executive director, once Last joins the group.
ITE said the group's performance in the quarter to the end of December was in line with management expectations and the early benefits of the transformation & growth programme continued to be felt with forward bookings up double digit on a like-for-like basis into 2018.
It said revenue for the period was £40.7m compared with £35.0m a year ago.
It said: 'The increase is largely due to the Breakbulk North America event not taking place in the comparative period due to event timing, the first-time impact of two events from our prior year acquisition of Gehua in China, and this being the stronger biennial quarter.
'On a like-for-like basis revenues for the quarter are 5% higher than the comparative period. Two top 10 events ran in the quarter, collectively delivering double digit like-for-like revenue growth.'
