Mirriad Advertising said it had renewed its contract with Alibaba-owned Youku, though on a non-exclusive basis. Youku, a Chinese entertainment platform, deployed Mirriad for in-video advertising, a component of its content monetization strategy. Youku signed an exclusive contract with Mirriad for China in late 2015 shortly before being acquired by Alibaba. The initial phase of the contract expired in December 2017 and has now been renewed, on a non-exclusive basis.
