Braemar Shipping Services reported a fall in profit as 'strong' performance from its shipbroking division performance was offset by weakness in its financial division. For the six months ended 31 August 2019, pre-tax profit fell 14% to £3m and revenue rose 4% to £59.5m. Shipbroking and engineering divisions achieved revenue growth of 9% and 5% in the first half, while the financial division saw revenue fall 25% The interim dividend was maintained at 5.0p a share. 'We will give more guidance on the longer term strategy following the end of the current financial year. In the meantime, it is expected that the outturn for the full financial year will be in line with current expectations,' the company said.
