Miniature war games manufacturer Games Workshop said half-yearly profit was expected to be at least £55m as royalty income grew significantly in the period from September to 3 November compared with a year earlier. The company said its preliminary estimates of the results for the six months to 1 December 2019 were sales of not less than £140m and pre-tax profit of not less than £55m. Last year, the company booked a pre-tax profit for the first half of £40.8m and revenue of of £125.2m. The update arrived on the back of ongoing momentum in recent months, with royalty growth driven by the 'timing of guarantee income on signing new licences,' Games Workshop said.
