Strategic partnership for NFV with AudioCodes

Edgility virtual networking solution available with AudioCodes multi-service business router

BATM (LSE: BVC; TASE: BVC), a leading provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, announces that its network function virtualisation ("NFV") solution, Edgility, is being made available by AudioCodes Ltd, a leading vendor of advanced communications software, products and productivity solutions for the digital workplace, with the Mediant 800 uCPE multi-service business router (MSBR).

AudioCodes' MSBRs are designed for service providers serving the Small Office Home Office (SOHO), small and mid-size business (SMB) and small to mid-size enterprise (SME) markets to provide an all-in-one router combining access, data, voice (VoIP) and security in a single device. The Mediant 800 uCPE adds NFV and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) functionality through compatibility with third-party solutions such as the Group's Edgility operating system for the creation of virtual networks. With Edgility now integrated with the Mediant 800 uCPE, service providers can simply and cost-effectively deploy a virtual network capable of running any computing-based application.

This partnership has been established in response to growing demand from communications service providers for a unified, cost-effective and simple-to-deploy approach to combining VoIP, which is AudioCodes' core specialism, with the edge computing capabilities that are enabled by NFV. It provides a further route-to-market for the Group's Edgility solution, and a significant competitive advantage for the Group in targeting AudioCodes' customer base as well as for both companies targeting new customers for the joint solution. Customers that use the Edgility solution, which is offered by the Group's Telco Systems subsidiary, will contract directly with the Group.

Dr Zvi Marom, CEO of BATM, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with AudioCodes to provide a simple-to-deploy and cost-effective solution to meet the growing demand for virtualisation technology and edge computing capabilities. AudioCodes operates in over 100 countries, counts 66 of the top 100 service providers among its clients and shares our focus on the SME market. Accordingly, this partnership enhances our route-to-market and competitive position. It also represents an endorsement of the strength of our offering and forms part of our growth strategy to accelerate the adoption of our solutions via collaborations. We continue to see increasing momentum in our NFV business and we are very excited about its future prospects."
