Appointment of Non-Executive Director
GBG (AIM: GBG), the expert in digital identity software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bhavneet (Bhav) Singh as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 November 2021. Bhav will become a member of the Audit & Risk, Remuneration, Nomination and ESG committees upon appointment.
Bhav Singh has over 25 years' experience leading successful digital businesses, through ambitious periods of growth and transformational change, with international expansion a key feature. He is the Founder and CEO of Sandbox a digital learning company reaching over 55 million users monthly across its portfolio of 13 market leading products, all focused on millennial families. Bhav set up Sandbox in 2015 and over 6 years, through a mix of organic growth and acquisitions, has grown Sandbox to be one of the market leading platforms in this space.
Prior to Sandbox Bhav was the CEO of Pearson English one of the key growth divisions for Pearson plc focused on teaching English as a foreign language. Under Bhav's leadership Pearson English increased its market share (and profitability) by assimilating all the English businesses into an integrated group and completing acquisitions in China, Brazil, Germany and the US.
Before Pearson, Bhav spent eight years at Viacom inc. as Managing Director and Executive Vice President of the Emerging Markets group. Here Bhav rapidly scaled Viacom brands (including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, Colors) into market leading positions in key growth territories including India, Russia, Central Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
He also provides an advisory role at a number of technology and media companies. Bhav was formerly a non-executive director of Forthnet, a Greek listed company.
