Verditek's distribution partner Bradclad Group secures important JV with Protan AB, one of Europe's largest Membrane roofing manufacturers.

Separately, Verditek secures its first order in Single Ply Membrane Roof market segment

Verditek plc, (AIM:VDTK), the international clean technology company that develops, manufactures and sells certified lightweight solar panels, is delighted to announce its role as exclusive supplier of lightweight solar panels to the new joint venture between its distribution partner Bradclad Group (www.bradcladgroup.com), the Yorkshire-based roof system manufacturer, and Protan AB (www.protan.com), the Norwegian-based manufacturer of PVC single ply roof membranes  and the second largest, single ply roofing membrane supplier in Europe. This JV  has led to the launch of 'Protan Solarbond' exclusively utilising Verditeks lightweight flexible solar panels.

Importantly, the integration of Verditeks's light weight solar into a market leading membrane roofing product, enables solar to be utilised in large-scale applications where traditional heavy glass solar cannot. These include large out of town retail sheds, warehouses and factories.

Furthermore, at the request of Protan AB, samples will be delivered over the course of this month to 35 of their European sales representatives as they roll this product out across the continent.

Background

Having previously incorporated the Verditek thin film solar modules into their metal roof panels to create their Energi-Roof system, Bradclad Group have now developed a solution for the flat roof market by laminating the solar panel onto a single ply roof membrane.  Following the successful completion of a 12 month R&D  and testing programme , Verditek has secured the first commercial order for a Single Ply Membrane Roof project in the UK.

The order is at a holiday park in the north of England powering the recreational facility and is the first  of fifteen similar sites within the same group.  The solar panels have already been shipped from our factory in Milan and will be laminated to the single ply membrane sections in the UK and installed at site within the coming 6 weeks.

Rob Richards, CEO of Verditek plc, commented "We are delighted to be working with Bradclad and their partner Protan in the single ply membrane roof market.  Following extensive development with our partner, the Company is now poised to enter the large-scale industrial market with its light-weight solar product partnering with one of Europe's major membrane roofing manufacturers. With ever increasing energy prices, more and more factories and warehouses need to install solar systems to remain competitive and this cost effective lightweight solution is ideal for both new build and existing structures"

Commenting on the development Bradclad Group's director Keith Bradley explains: "We knew the potential for integrating Verditek's flexible solar modules onto PVC flat roof membranes was huge but we first had to overcome the challenge of bonding together very different materials. Following dialogue with specialist adhesives companies and months of laboratory trials, we eventually found the right solution."
