PIP announced an unaudited net asset value ("NAV") per share as at 30 June 2022 of 462.7p, an increase of 11.1.p (+2.5%) from the NAV per share as at 31 May 2022.

In the month to 30 June 2022, valuation gains* were +2.1p (+0.5%), investment income* added +0.4p (+0.1%), foreign exchange movements* were +9.2p (+2.0%) and expenses and taxes**** were -0.6p   (-0.1%).

PIP's valuation policy for private equity funds is based on the latest valuations reported by the managers of the funds in which PIP has holdings. In the case of PIP's valuation as at 30 June 2022, 15% of reported valuations are dated 30 June 2022, 74% are dated 31 March 2022, 8% are dated 31 December 2021 and 3% are dated 30 September 2021 or older. Of the 15% of valuations dated 30 June 2022, 9% reflect the mark to market fair value adjustment for PIP's listed company holdings.

At 30 June 2022, PIP's private equity assets stood at £2,332m, whilst net available cash balances^ were £194m. The Asset Linked Note^^ ("ALN") outstanding as at 30 June 2022 amounted to £39m. Undrawn commitments to investments stood at £761m as at 30 June 2022, calculated using exchange rates at that date. PIP's multi-currency revolving credit facilities comprise a US$269.8m facility and a €101.6m facility, which remained undrawn as at the month end.     

 

PIP made £76.2m of new commitments during the month which were to four co-investments (£63.8m) and one primary (£12.4m). These included:

·    A £21.0m co-investment alongside Insight Partners in Datto, a provider of business continuity and disaster recovery IT services, based in the USA.

·    A £12.4m primary commitment to Accel Leaders Fund IV, a North American venture fund focused on the IT sector.

·    An £11.8m co-investment alongside Knox Lane Capital in Elevation Labs, a manufacturer of premium beauty products, based in the USA.

 

*Figures are stated net of movements associated with the ALN share of the reference portfolio. Valuation movement includes the mark to market fair value adjustment of listed company holdings.
