Guildford-based digital vouchers business Eagle Eye Solutions (EYE:AIM) could be a surprise beneficiary of next week’s iPhone 6 launch event by Apple (AAPL:NDQ), (see Big Debate). The world’s most valuable company is expected to talk in detail about new near-field communications technology that is used by the UK £30 million cap.
Eagle Eye joined AIM on 16 April at 164p having bought out the struggling 2ergo business. Since then retail customers using its Eagle Eye AIR platform have increased by about a third, from roughly 60 to more than 80, including high street heavyweights such as Tesco (TSCO) and Marks & Spencer (MKS).
Retailers are increasingly investing in the digital economy for new ways to encourage shoppers to return to their stores. Mobile vouchers are seen as a big part of that push. ‘Eagle Eye is a pioneering multi-patented transaction software platform, supporting real-time, multi-channel digital offers, payments and rewards,’ explain Panmure Gordon analysts. This helps retailers and brands cut costs, improve customer offers and provide the springboard into the digital retail space.
House broker Panmure has yet to put forecasts into the market but full-year results due 22 September should see that change and could excite the shares, at 150p, in this emerging business.
