BSF Enterprise PLC on Monday said its wholly-owned subsidiary 3D Bio Tissues Ltd has signed its first distribution agreement for its City-Mix supplement.

BSF Enterprise is a London-based investor in biotechnology.

The company said the subsidiary has agreed the deal with two lab-grown meat companies and a biotech company. The initial sales will be small at this ‘early stage’ the company said, but are expected to grow.

‘This is an important milestone for the company providing an excellent reference while highlighting the quality of our product,’ the firm said.

BSF added that City-Mix is being evaluated by cellular agriculture companies in multiple countries, with 3DBT planning to roll-out a web-based sales channel in the coming months.

BSF added that 3DBT has signed a deal with a leather company to develop a lab-grown animal skin for leather production.

3DBT Chief Executive Che Connon said: ‘We are delighted with the considerable commercial progress we have achieved with our flagship City-Mix product in such a short space of time. This is testament to the true differentiation of our product, which delivers higher yields over traditional media and requires fewer expensive supplements, resulting, in combination with our tissue templating knowhow, in a product that is pure meat.’

BSF shares fell 4.5% to 13.01 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
