BSF Enterprise PLC - London-based investor in biotechnology and ownder of cellular agriculture company 3D Bio-Tissues - Says cultivated meat has been approved for sale in the US. Notes two cultivated meat companies, Upside Foods Inc and Eat Just Inc have been granted regulatory approval from the US Department of Agriculture and Food & Drug Administration to sell their cultivated chicken products. Says approval ‘substantially validates cultivated meat as a viable and safe alternative to conventional meat.’

BSF’s subsidiary 3D Bio-Tissues has been developing cultivated meat products using its patented cell booster City-MixTM.

3D Bio-Tissues Chief Executive Officer Che Connon says: ‘Today’s approval will pave the way for the government approval for other producers of cultivated meat in the US, including companies that 3D Bio Tissues is looking to partner with and provide our patented serum-free and animal-free cell booster City-MixTM to help scale up cultivated meat production.’

Current stock price: 14.00 pence, up 17% on Friday
