Everyman Media Group PLC on Friday said Executive Chair Paul Wise plans to step down from his role on February 28 next year.

Wise has been with the London-based independent cinema chain for fourteen years as chair.

Once Wise steps down, Non-Executive Director Philip Jacobson will pick up the role of non-executive chair.

Jacobson joined Everyman in 2013 ahead of the company’s admission to AIM.

Prior to that, he became partner of BDO in 1975 and remained with the accountancy firm until 2006. During his tenure at BDO, Jacobson worked with a range of listed and unlisted companies.

Chief Executive Alex Scrimgeour said: ‘On behalf of the board and everyone at Everyman I would like to thank Paul for his contribution during his tenure. For 14 years, Paul has been instrumental in building the Everyman proposition, growing the business and, most recently, navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic.

‘In Philip Jacobson we have an experienced successor who knows and understands the business. I look forward to working with him in his new capacity,’ Scrimgeour added.

Shares in Everyman were down 1.1% to 93.00 pence each in London on Friday morning.
