Windward Ltd on Thursday announced the launch of additional estimated time of arrival insights AI capability.

The Liverpool, England-based maritime predictive intelligence company said the new AI capability, which is included in its newly launched Ocean Freight Visibility solution, automatically provides customers with ‘actionable visibility’ to reduce the impact of delays and improve business operations.

The company said it will also now provide the reasons for the delay of shipments as an added capability on its OFV solution.

Chief Executive Officer Ami Daniel said: ‘Visibility is critical to the supply chain. Knowing your shipment is delayed is a necessity, but knowing why your shipment was delayed empowers customers to take action and minimise the business impact of delays.

‘The new AI-based iteration of visibility is actionable, and Reasons for Delay is Windward’s next step to provide stakeholders with the tools to increase efficiency and decrease cost when it comes to their shipping operations.’

Windward shares were up 2.8% trading at 55.50 pence per share on Thursday afternoon in London.
