Oakley Capital Investments Ltd on Wednesday said that Oakley Capital Fund III has reached an agreement to realise its stake in IU Group, a private university group in Germany.

Oakley Capital Investments is an investment vehicle that aims to provide shareholders liquid access to private equity returns through investment in the Oakley Funds.

Oakley Capital Investments said its share of the proceeds will be £240 million. It added that its underlying investment in IU Group increased in value by 85% in 2022 through to December when the sale process for IU Group began.

As part of the transaction, Oakley Capital vehicles - including Oakley Capital Fund V - will invest in IU Group. This will extend Oakley’s ownership and control of the business.

Oakley Capital Investments’ indirect contribution via Fund V will be £67 million.

Shares in Oakley Capital Investments were up 0.6% at 479.00 pence in London on Wednesday morning.
