BATM Advanced Communications Ltd - Hod Hasharon, Israel-based networking and medical technology company - Says ‘a leading provider of emergency connectivity services in North America’ has awarded it a five-year contract for its Edgility edge computing platform. This is the first time Edgility will be used to support critical public infrastructure. Customer will use the platform to deliver the call-handling system for 911 Emergency Services and the 988 National Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Crisis Lifeline across a major US State. BATM says using Edgility will facilitate enhanced responsiveness and faster call resolution times, and reduce the need for additional hardware.

Chief Executive Officer Moti Nagar says: ‘This latest contract for Edgility is a great endorsement of our solution given the high standards of reliability and efficacy required for emergency services call handling. It also demonstrates the numerous high value use cases for edge computing, with Edgility being used for the first time in a government application for public safety.’
