Artemis Resources Ltd on Thursday said it has discovered ‘numerous swarms of pegmatites’ at the Andover complex of its 100% tenure in West Pilbara, following a geological survey.

The Gold and copper-focused exploration company with two major projects in Western Australia said it found six sets of pegmatites with elevated levels of lithium-caesium-tantalum and rubidium mineralisation. It said four pegmatite clusters are potentially prospective for economic mineralisation.

The firm has a further 21 square kilometres of prospective outcrops at Andover which has yet ot be assessed.

Artemis said it has identified more than 90 pegmatite outcrops to date, with the largest of them having an average strike length of 200 metres and width of more than 45 metres. It noted that it has collected 230 rock chip samples.

At its Osborne joint venture, the firm said rock chip samples have indicated lithium oxide results including 2.4% and 1.5%. at the Osborne, Adrian and Wally zones.

Technical Director and acting Chief Executive Simon Dominy said: ‘We are delighted to confirm the identification of numerous swarms of pegmatites along the margins of the Andover mafic intrusive complex within our 100% owned ground. This further solidifies our position in the rapidly emerging lithium province in the West Pilbara and we have a clear focus on moving quickly to unlock the potential of our tenure.

‘From a technical perspective, our understanding of the pegmatites and their chemical zonation is increasing.’

Artemis shares fell 7.1% to 1.30 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
