Galliford Try Holdings PLC said Wednesday its Building and Highways units have been appointed to a ‘major new’ public sector framework in the North West of England.

Shares in the Uxbridge, England-based construction company were up 3.1% in London on Wednesday morning at 185.49 pence each.

‘The £1.8 billion framework is the latest iteration of the Procure Partnerships North West Framework, which is open to public sector bodies across the region to bring construction projects to market,’ the company explained.

‘Galliford Try has won places on six lots in total, three for its Building business and three for the first time for its Highways business.’

In mid-January, Galliford Try said it was trading in line with board expectations as it continued to make operational progress in the first half of its financial year. It reported that its average month-end cash for the six months ended December 31 was £180 million. Its year to June 30 average month-end cash was £164 million.

In January, Galliford Try said recent project wins, including its share of the £7 billion Department for Education 2021 construction framework and a £56 million private rented sector scheme in Milton Keynes, had contributed to its £3.4 billion order book.

The company said it expects to announce its half-year results on March 3.

In the statement on Wednesday, Chief Executive Bill Hocking said: ‘The Procure Partnerships framework is a fantastic example of the kind of collaborative, progressive framework that forms a key part of our sustainable growth strategy.

‘We are delighted therefore to have retained our place on the Building framework and to have gained places on the infrastructure lots for our Highways team. We look forward to working with all the stakeholders involved to create fantastic public facilities and infrastructure for local communities across the region.’
