DCC PLC on Tuesday said it has agreed to buy European solar and clean energy technology distributor PVO International BV for an undisclosed sum.

The Ireland-based sales, marketing, and support services firm said the acquisition will increase DCC Energy’s capability in and contribution from renewable energies and services.

PVO International is based in Rosmalen in the Netherlands. In the most recent financial year, it generated a revenue of about €190 million.

DCC Chief Executive Donal Murphy says: ‘We have already made good progress in recent years and PVO provides an excellent platform to build a pan-European business in the distribution of solar PV and associated products, such as energy storage and EV chargers.’

DCC said it has now committed about £80 million toward buying renewable energies and services businesses.

Shares were up 0.1% at 4,657.00 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
