Avon Protection PLC on Monday said it hired Jos Sclater, chief financial officer from Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC, as its new chief executive officer.

Prior to this, he was the CFO at Castrol Ltd, an oil company that markets industrial and automotive lubricants. Before this, he spent seven years at automotive & aerospace components business GKN PLC, including as CFO and director of Corporate Finance & Strategy.

Avon Executive Chair Bruce Thompson said: ‘He brings a wealth of experience in leadership roles and an impressive track record of value creation within global manufacturing businesses. His expertise in a range of disciplines and deep experience in the international defence industry make him a standout choice to lead Avon Protection as chief executive officer.’
