Block Energy PLC on Tuesday named its Non-Executive Director Ken Seymour as its new chief operating officer.

Block Energy is a London-based oil and gas company focused on Georgia.

Seymour has been a non-executive director of the company since September 6, 2021. He will step down from the board immediately, in order to devote more time to his new role.

Block Energy said Seymour has over 40 years of industry experience as a drilling engineer, drilling superintendent, drilling manager, asset manager, director and adviser.

The company noted that it has initiated a search for a replacement independent non‑executive director.

Non-Executive Chair Philip Dimmock said: ‘We are delighted that Ken has agreed to take up the role of COO at Block. Applying his considerable skills and experience as a member of the executive team, he will make an even greater contribution to the company’s activities as it continues to accelerate the development of its operations and projects in Georgia.’

Shares in Block Energy were down 1.9% to 1.20 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
