RM PLC on Wednesday named Mark Cook as its new chief executive officer, effective Monday.

RM is a Oxfordshire, England-based IT products and services provider.

Current CEO Neil Martin will remain an executive director of RM to ensure an orderly handover until the preliminary results have been released for the financial year ended November 30, 2022.

Martin was promoted from chief financial officer to CEO in February 2021. He had previously been CFO for five years.

Cook is currently non-executive chair of Searchlight Consulting Ltd. Prior to this, he was CEO for the people solutions division and then the technology solutions division at Capita PLC. Capita is a London-based professional services company.

Chair Helen Stevenson said: ‘Mark has a strong track record of transforming and growing businesses to deliver shareholder value. RM has leading brands, great people and strong customer relationships and the board looks forward to working with Mark to ensure we deliver on the significant potential.

‘On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Neil for his contribution to RM. The last year in particular has been a challenging period for the group, and the board is grateful to Neil for his exceptional efforts in stabilising the business in recent months,’ Stevenson added.

Shares in RM were up 1.6% to 63.50 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon, while shares in Capita were up 1.7% to 27.06p.
