Haydale Graphene Industries PLC said on Wednesday that it has signed a collaboration agreement with Compagnie de Saint-Gobain’s Boron Nitride Powder Solutions branch.

The Ammanford, Wales-based graphene technology company said the deal is to facilitate the further development of Boron Nitride (hBN), which specialises in an advanced synthetic ceramic.

Haydale said its advanced HDPlas process can alter the surface chemistry of hBN and enhance the processability and mechanical properties of composite materials.

Haydale said it entered the agreement with Saint-Gobain to continue the development of hBN after receiving positive customer feedback.

The agreement will continue for the next two years, Haydale said, with the possibility of extension the year after.

Saint-Gobain is a Paris-based construction products manufacturer.

Chief Executive Officer Keith Broadbent of Haydale said: ‘It has been a pleasure collaborating with Saint-Gobain and to see the benefits of their expertise in hBN and our knowledge of functionalisation combine to deliver real enhancements to their products. The market for hBN is significant, and we look forward to working with Saint-Gobain in the future.’

Haydale shares were up 4.1% at 1.77 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
