Burford Capital Ltd - law-focused global finance and asset management firm - Says it swung to a net profit in the third quarter of 2023 of $272.5 million from a loss of $58.3 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share swung to $1.24 from a loss of $0.24 in the corresponding quarter the year before. Meanwhile, in the nine months to September 30, says total revenue more than tripled to $794.3 million from $157.9 million in 2022. Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bogart says this surge was driven by ‘significant growth in capital provision income with and without our YPF-related assets.’
