Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC on Thursday said it will change its corporate holding company name to Mony Group PLC, effective from May 20.

The Chester, England-based price comparison website said this reflects how the group has evolved in recent years to ‘become the UK’s leading listed tech-based savings platform’.

The name change will support ‘not only its own well-trusted brands, MoneySuperMarket, MoneySavingExpert and Quidco, but also those of leading third-party businesses,’ said Moneysupermarket.com.

It said being named after just one of its consumer brands no longer represented the extent of its business today. There will be no changes to the consumer facing brands or their websites, it assured.

Shares in Moneysupermarket.com were up 1.1% to 220.80 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
