FTSE opening after US, Asia gains; inflation in focus

London equities open after gains on Wall St and in Asia overnight, with UK traders looking to a raft of inflation data out mid morning.
In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.32% to 18,325.07, while the S&P 500 was up 1.47% to 2159.04 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 1.68% to 5211.89.
In Asia, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.3% to 16,723.13 and the Hang Seng was up 0.95% to 23,511.8.
At 6.14am, WTI crude was down 0.86% to $45.89/bbl and Brent was down 0.7% to $47.98/bbl. Gold was up 0.6% to $1333.6/oz.
Interim results are due from Attraqt, Corero Network Security, Escher, Futura Medical, Goals Soccer Centres, NetPlay TV, Safecharge International, Thalassa and Verona Pharma.
Final results are scheduled from Kalibrate Technologies, while shareholder meetings are in the diary for Abzena and Oxford Instruments.
